A 55-YEAR-OLD man in Tyrone is due in court today in connection with the attempted abduction of a child.
The man has been charged with attempted child abduction and common assault and will appear at Omagh Magistrates Court later today.
Police said the charges relate to a “suspicious approach to a child” in Coagh on Wednesday of this week. The Tyrone Times reports that the child was playing outside the family home Wednesday evening when a man got out of a car and grabbed the child’s arm.
The child’s mother saw what was happening, came out of the house and the man got into his car and drove off.
Police said the charges will now be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service in Northern Ireland.
