Poll: Should under 18s be allowed to marry?

Children’s groups have argued the current law, which does allow this, facilitates forced marriages.

A CHANGE IN the law will soon mean 16 and 17-year-olds will not be able to get married in Ireland.

The current rules allow for this if they can prove to a court that they have parental approval but children’s groups have argued that this system facilitates forced marriages.

We want to know what you think: Should people under the age of 18 be allowed to get married in Ireland?
