Port Tunnel closed as truck catches fire

The closure is affecting traffic around Dublin.

DUBLIN’S PORT TUNNEL is closed in both directions due to an incident inside the tunnel.

A truck caught fire and emergency services are responding.

The closure is affecting all lanes and causing heavy traffic around Dublin Port and East Wall.

Dublin City Council says the truck’s engine blew, causing the fire. The fire has been brought under control, but there is no timeline for its reopening.

Motorists are being asked to avoid the area.
