Thousands left without power in Dublin after electricity fault
A power fault has affected an area in the northeast of the city, covering Donaghmede, Howth junction, Sutton, and into the Malahide Road area.
AROUND 5,000 people were without electricity in Dublin this evening after a power cut.
An ESB power fault has affected an area in the northeast of the city, covering Donaghmede, Howth junction, Sutton, and into the Malahide Road area.
“There was about 5,000 people without power, and power has been restored to around 2,500 people now,” an ESB spokesman told TheJournal.ie earlier this evening.
“Crews are out carrying out repairs to connect all by 10pm, and 11pm at latest.”
At 10pm, the number of customers without power had been brought down to 1,118, with the ESB Networks Powercheck website estimating it would be restored by 3am.
There are reports of traffic lights being affected in some areas.
