PSNI search home of policing board chief

Barry Gilligan’s office raided too.

THE HOME AND OFFICE of the head of the Northern Ireland Policing Board have been searched by PSNI officers in Belfast, the Belfast Telegraph reports.

Barry Gilligan, who runs a property investment and development company, has been the chairman of the policing board since June 2009.

Police are investigating the role of the North’s housing authority in a site owned by Big Picture Developments, which lists Gilligan as a director.

The housing body called police to investigate its own role in the site five months ago, according to the BBC. The PSNI’s organised crime section carried out the searches, and removed a number of items for examination.
