Man arrested over Rathfarnham bank robbery

The incident occurred earlier this month when a man armed with a shotgun threatened staff in a bank and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

GARDAÍ IN RATHFARNHAM have arrested a man in his mid 20′s this morning in relation a robbery which occurred at Bank of Ireland in Rathfarnham Shopping Centre on 11 October.

The incident occurred at 2.10pm on 11 October when a lone raider armed with a shotgun, entered the bank, threatened staff and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

He left across Butterfield Avenue in the direction of Marion Road.

A the time the suspect was described as in his mid 30′s, 6 foot in height and of slim build. He was wearing a grey hoodie and navy sleeveless jacket over it.

The arrested man is currently detained at Rathfarnham Garda Station.
