TWO GARDAÍ WERE injured during the arrest of a man who was found to be in possession of an imitation firearm outside a Dublin shopping centre yesterday evening.
It is understood the man was struck by a car near the Swan Shopping Centre on Rathmines Road just after 5.30pm. Gardaí and paramedics from Dublin Fire Brigade attended the scene.
The man became abusive and gardaí noticed he was in possession of an imitation firearm.
During the arrest two gardaí sustained minor injuries. They attended St Vincent’s Hospital for treatment.
A garda spokesperson said investigations are ongoing.
