GARDAÍ CONTINUED THEIR searches for missing Laois woman Aoife Phelan today.
RTÉ News reports that the searches, which are winding down for the night, took place in a number of locations, including the River Barrow beneath the M7 motorway by Ballybrittas.
There were also searches on land near a house on the Timahoe Road.
Gardaí are continuing to question a man in his 20s at Portlaoise Garda Station in connection with the investigation into Aoife’s disappearance. Yesterday gardaí said they were speaking to the man in connection with Aoife’s murder.
The 30-year-old au pair was last seen on 25 October after leaving a friend’s house in the Collier’s Wood area of Portlaoise.
