Gardaí seek help finding owners of seized tools worth €26,000

Many of the tools are specialised items that would only be used by car or heavy goods mechanics.

GARDAÍ ARE SEEKING the public’s help in tracing the owners of property they have recovered.

In May, gardaí conducting a checkpoint on Stockhole Lane, Cloghran, Co Dublin stopped a van containing a large amount of new and secondhand power tools.

The tools, with an approximate value of up to €26,000, were seized.

Gardaí said many of the tools are “specialised items that would only be used by car or heavy goods mechanics and may have been taken from such garages”.

No arrests have been made to date, but the investigation is ongoing. It is believed that some of the tools may have been stolen in the UK and Northern Ireland.

Gardaí said anyone who believes they may own the tools can arrange a viewing by emailing ballymun_ds@garda.ie or by calling 01 6664493. Proof of ownership will be required to claim the tools.
