Teenage girl allegedly sexually assaulted at disco in Limerick

The alleged attack is said to have taken place at a disco for secondary school students.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING an alleged sexual assault on a teenage girl at a disco in Limerick which was billed as “Munster’s biggest disco for third year and transition year students”.

Gardaí confirmed they are looking into an allegation of an assault on a 17-year old.

The alleged attack is said to have taken place at Limerick Racecourse last Friday night.

A spokesperson said: “No arrests have been made.”

The source added: “We have spoken to the girl. The incident is alleged to have occurred in the premises of the racecourse on Friday night.

The disco took place between 9pm and midnight and there would have been up to 1,500 young people in attendance.

A poster advertising the Sinbin Teen Events disco offers attendees “three floors and six massive parties”. Alcohol is not served at the event.

Gardaí did not disclose details of the alleged assault. Detectives at Roxboro Road garda station Limerick have appealed for people with information to contact them on 061 214 340.
