If you're on the west coast today, try not to get blown away

Met Éireann has issued a status yellow wind warning.

A STATUS YELLOW wind warning has been issued for parts of the country today.

Met Éireann warned that strong gusts will continue to hit Donegal, Galway, Mayo and Sligo until this afternoon.

Southerly morning winds of 45 to 50 km/hour will veer westerly later in the day and increase to 50 to 60 km/hour, the forecasters said.

Widespread rain and gusty winds are forecast for the rest of the country, with rain clearing eastwards in the afternoon.

Highest temperatures will be between 13 and 15 degrees during the day, with lows of 6 to 8 degrees early tonight.
