1. #RIOTS: Three prison officers and an inmate have been taken to hospital after riots in Mountjoy involving up to 74 prisoners, in which the prison officers were attacked with pool cues and balls.

2. #MURDER: A murder investigation is to be launched this morning, after a man named locally as Niall Dorr has died from injuries he suffered in an assault during a row with seven other men in Dundalk on Wednesday night.

3. #TALKS: Labour now says it will accept the Taoiseach’s invitation to talks aimed at reaching consensus on the economy.

4. #ANGLO: David Drumm’s decision to file for bankruptcy in the US means he’s likely to keep his €250,000 pension, and will only be regarded as bankrupt for three to five years, instead of 12. His lawyers claim he only opted for this course after “bending over backwards” to try and reach a settlement with Anglo.

5. #ASGARD: The Asgard II may have collided with a whale – that’s the verdict of an investigation into what led to its sinking off the French coast.

6. #CUTS: Surplus public sector staff are to be forced out of their jobs for the first time in the history of the State, starting with a number of college lecturers.

7. #EXPENSES: Fine Gael MEP Jim Higgins, who took a three day study break to the island of Madeira at a cost of €400,000 to the taxpayer responded to questions by the Irish Independent about the trip by saying “That’s all shite … that’s all shite if you don’t mind me saying so.”

8. #MARRIAGE: A barefoot Kate Moss has reportedly married her long-term boyfriend Jamie Hince in Sicily. The wedding dress is described as “see-through”.

9. #PROPERTY PORN: The wealthiest man in India, Mukesh Ambani, has built the world’s first $1 billion home in Mumbai. It requires 600 staff to man its gym, dance studio, ballroom, movie theatre and 160 slot car park.
