DJ Jazzy Jeff and Will Smith (The Fresh Prince) in 1989 after winning twice at the American Music Awards
Fresh Prince is Back

The Fresh Prince to make a comeback

Will Smith is going back to his…er, roots and is making another rap album.

WILL SMITH MAY be ready to make a return to music, according to hip-hop producer La Mar ‘Mars’ Edwards.

Speaking to XXLMag.com, Mars said he is “working on” bringing Will Smith back. He indicated that he was in talks with the ‘Men In Black’ star, stating he was “on the other line” at the time of the interview.

Smith’s last album was in 2005 when he released ‘Lost and Found’. Any new LP would be his fifth solo effort after Big Willie Style (1997), Willennium (1997) and Born to Reign (2002).

Will Smith shot to fame in the late 1980′s as one part of the duo, DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. Smith went on to have a hugely successful music, television and movie career and father two stage prodigies in Jaden and Willow. DJ Jazzy Jeff still turns tables across LA and releases various ‘mix tapes’. His website says he is still making music for “da love of da game”.

Here’s a little taster of the Will Smith of old in the extended version of the opening song to the ‘Fresh Prince of Bel Air’:
