Three hospitalised after six-car M50 pile-up

Two women in their 70s, and a man in his 30s, are hospitalised following a six-car collision on the southbound carriageway.

THREE PEOPLE have been hospitalised following a six-car pile-up on the M50 this evening.

The collision occurred shortly after 6:20pm, on the southbound carriageway between junctions 16 (Cherrywood) and 17 (M11).

Gardaí were despatched to the scene, and the area has now been cleared with traffic resuming, though the road remained closed for some time with diversions operating.

Two women, both aged in their 70s, have been taken to St Vincent’s Hospital; Gardaí say their conditions are described as stable.

A third person – a man aged in his 30s – has been taken to Loughlinstown Hospital, but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
