Three men arrested over Robert Delaney shooting

Three men are being questioned by gardaí in connection with the shooting of Robert Delaney in Tallaght in 2008.

THREE MEN HAVE been arrested over the shooting of 27-year-old Robert Delaney in October 2008.

Robert Delaney was severely brain-damaged after being he was shot at his home in Tallaght in Dublin.

He had been sleeping when he was awakened by a knock on the door, when he looked out of an upstairs window he was shot.

A man and two of his sons were arrested in Rathfarnam and Tallaght in today connection with the attack.

Gardaí have said that the man is 57 and was a member of the IRA.

It is believed that one of the man’s sons had been involved in a fight in a pub, and Delaney had been marked for an attack after he unwittingly intervened.
