Daragh Brophy reports from Turnberry, Scotland:
SAY WHAT YOU like about Donald Trump – he’s a man who knows how (and when) to make an entrance.
The businessman and presumptive GOP nominee had been due to land at his Turnberry golf resort, to the south of Glasgow, shortly after 8am.
But then the news of David Cameron’s resignation plans broke. We had been told he was “in the sky” around that time – but the ‘Trump’-emblazoned chopper still didn’t materialise at the course for over an hour.
It’s probably safe to assume he was waiting for Twitter to calm down a little, before making his entrance.
There were some brief comments about the Brexit result (see below) – but the outspoken politician is set to address the issue in a little more depth at a press conference, set to take place on the edge of a cliff, at the course’s ninth hole, shortly.
More on that later…
