Van driver (46) dies in collision with lorry near Kells

The road is currently closed, pending a forensic examination.

A 46-YEAR-OLD MAN has died after the van he was driving collided with a lorry near Kells, Co Meath.

The incident occurred at 10.30am at Lynch’s Cross on the Mullingar Road. The van driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The lorry driver, a 66-year-old man, was taken to Navan Hospital, but his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The road is currently closed, pending a forensic examination.

A post mortem is due to be arranged on the deceased man.

Investigating gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them at Kells Garda Station on 046 9280820, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
