Woman (44) dies after 100ft fall on Kerry mountain

The woman was walking on Stradbally Mountain when she fell at around 2pm.

A WOMAN HAS died following an accident on a Kerry mountain.

The woman, who was 44, was with a group of 30 hillwalkers on the Stradbally Mountain when she fell at around 2pm yesterday.

Emergency services recovered her body at about 6pm after challenging weather conditions hampered the search.

Valentia Coastguard said the woman died from her injuries after falling around 100 feet.

Her body was taken to Kerry General Hospital and a post-mortem examination will take place.
