6 reasons we love Nick Frost and Simon Pegg

One of the finer cinema bromances.

SOME COMEDY DUOS are simply made for each other.

Think Laurel and Hardy, the two Ronnies, Adam and Joe, Matt Lucas and David Walliams… The list goes on. But one of our favourite double acts has to be Nick Frost and Simon Pegg.

This pair are, of course, best-known for the Cornetto Trilogy films with director Edgar Wright – first Shaun of the Dead, then Hot Fuzz and now the hotly-anticipated final instalment, The World’s End.

Here are just a few of the reasons why we love them.

1. Because they’re such good friends in real life too

Here’s Pegg on their relationship:

“Somehow we found each other and have been together ever since. I realised after two weeks of hanging out with Nick, I really, really like this guy. It was like a romance blossomed between us.”

D’awww.  You guys.

2. Their many collaborations

Most of us met Frost and Pegg in Shaun of the Dead and fell for their banter there, but did you know they’ve collaborated on more than that?

Like cult TV show Spaced, that aired for two seasons in the early 2000s. They also joined forces for Paul and The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn.

3. Their close relationship

One of our favourite parts of Shaun of the Dead is how close Pegg and Frost’s characters are. Not to mention their pet names for each other.

What chemistry.

4. The hilarious bickering

Despite their closeness, one of the best part of the rapport between the lads is the bickering and fighting.

5. Fence jumping

One thing we’re looking forward to the most from The World’s End is finding out how they’ve incorporated the essential fence-jumping scene.

In Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead, they went a little something like this:

“What’s the matter? Never taken a shortcut before?”

6. And of course…

The long-awaited final instalment.

The two will come together again, but sadly it’s the Cornetto Trilogy’s last outing. We’ve followed the boys’ adventures in Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz and now it’s time for the final bite of the ice cream.

The World’s End is out on on the 19 July. Check out the trailer below.
