Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this morning's fatal accident on Dublin's quays

A man in his late 30s was killed instantly when his motorcycle collided with a truck.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for witnesses to a fatal traffic collision on Dublin’s North Wall quays this morning to contact them.

The quays were brought to a standstill around the 3 Arena after the crash between a truck and a motorcyclist at about 7.30am.

It is understood that the motorcyclist, a man in his mid-to-late thirties, was killed instantly in the collision. A doctor who was present assisted emergency services at the scene.

No other person was injured.

A source indicated that the accident happened as three motorcycles were heading east with the truck driving west into the city.

The road is currently closed to facilitate a Garda Forensic Collision Examination and diversions remain in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the accident to contact them at Store Garda Station on 01 – 666 8000, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
