Motorcyclist killed in Ashbourne collision

The incident occurred at 7.30pm yesterday evening and gardaí are appealing for witnesses

A 26-YEAR-OLD motorcyclist has been killed in a road collision on the M2 in Ashbourne, Co Meath yesterday evening.

The incident occurred at 7.30pm between the St Margarets and the Asbourne/Ratoath exits on the M2. The male motorcyclist was fatally injured after the collision with another vehicle but no one else was injured.

The motorway was closed in both directions for a forensic collision examination and diversions were put in place.

Gardaí in Ashbourne are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have been on the N2/M2 at the time of the collision or shortly before the collision to contact them in Ashbourne on 01 8010600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
