FIRE CREWS ARE still at the scene at Bray Head where a fire broke out yesterday.

Firefighters stayed up the mountain all night to tackle the blaze, which is the second gorse fire to break out on the popular walkway in the last week.

Significant damage was caused by that fire over the weekend.

Gardaí are advising people to avoid both Bray Head and Greystones to Bray cliff walk as visibility may be affected.

AA Roadwatch says traffic in Bray could be affected this morning, particularly on the Newcourt Road, which should be avoided.

Photos of social media show the flames and smoke could be seen from miles around, with the smell of smoke spreading as far as Glasnevin due to southerly winds.

Fire crews continued on into the night to deal with the flames.

The aftermath of the fire can be seen this morning. It’s believed the fire is now under control.
