Elderly couple tied up as gang members stole jewellery from their home

It is believed three men were involved and they made off with a quantity of jewellery.

AN ELDERLY COUPLE suffered a terrible ordeal last night when a gang of men broke into their home and robbed them.

It is believed three men broke into the couple’s home, at Briarwood, off Vevay Road in Bray, at around 8.30pm.

The men threatened the couple, who are in their 80s, and tied them up. They left a short time later with a quantity of jewellery.

A garda spokesperson said the man and woman were not seriously injured in the incident but were treated at the scene for shock.

Gardaí in Bray are appealing for anyone with information about the aggravated burglary to contact them on 01 666 5300.
