'Get the f*** out of Wicklow': Enda met his first protesters of the election today

It got a bit heated on the campaign trail earlier.

ENDA KENNY WAS met by protesters as he campaigned in Wicklow today.

The Taoiseach was visiting the constituency office of local Fine Gael TD Andrew Doyle when some angry protesters shouted abuse at him.

Doyle was accompanied by Fine Gael candidate Avril Cronin who is also running for the party in the five-seat constituency.

Reporters on the scene captured the protesters heckling the Fine Gael leader:

The protesters shouted “out, out, out” with one heard to say:

Enda Kenny, get the f*** out of Wicklow! Get the f*** out of Wicklow! Go on ye scumbag.

East Coast FM reports that Kenny was confronted by up to a dozen protesters, but said he defied them after visiting Doyle’s office by going on a short walkabout on the streets.

After that, Kenny visited Bray company Newmarket Kitchen, a food business incubation centre started by Shane Bonner, who was made unemployed in 2009.

He was joined by junior minister Simon Harris, who is also seeking re-election in Wicklow, and reportedly flipped pancakes to mark Shrove Tuesday.
