Two teenagers arrested after fire at house in Limerick overnight

Gardaí said the house was extensively damaged in the blaze.

TWO TEENAGERS HAVE been arrested by Gardaí after an extensive fire at a house in Limerick in the early hours of this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the South Circular Road at approximately 2am this morning.  No-one was in the house at the time, which was seriously damaged by the blaze.

The fire was brought under control by the fire services.

The men, both in their late teens, were arrested close to the scene a short time later. Both are being held at Roxoboro Road Garda Station where they are being questioned about the incident.

The scene at the house has been preserved ahead of a technical and forensic examination which will take place later today. Gardaí said the investigation is ongoing.
