Yes all motorsport is dangerous but all spectators who go to rallies know the risks but they go to support the sport and all the people involved in the sport. Joe lane loved rallies that’s why he prided himself as a rally photographer but unfortunately accidents happen and it happened too fast for him and Caroline to get out of the way.
Rip to them both and a speedy recovery for all left behind.

I think this debate about this accident needs to be put off & let us consider the dead & injured & their families & lets get the facts. These people were not standing somewhere particularly dangerous by all accounts but lets wait for the report & leave these people to greave.

You have more chance of dying while driving to work than you have of dying in a rally. Sad for everybody involved but no way this sport should be banned just because a few eejits wouldn’t move when they were told. No sport is 100% safe.

Do news sites/papers/tv stations ever think that pictures of the scene of an accident are distressing to the families. I’ve been through it and its not nice. I thought this site was different.

My step brother was there. Helped pull the car off the 2 dead as far as I know. Got a blanket and covered them. Very sad

Sadly every year someone is dying at these car and motorbike rallys. Health and safety must be improved.

This is very sad for all involved. I really think that this type of road racing should be banned. It’s too dangerous. Take it to a circuit instead where there is less risk of spectators getting killed.
