Man charged in relation to Gerard Burnett murder

A teenager also remains in custody in relation to the fatal stabbing in west Dublin last week.

A 20-YEAR-OLD man is due to appear in court later this morning, charged in relation to the murder of Gerard Burnett in west Dublin last week.

Burnett, a 28-year-old father-of-one, was stabbed multiple times during an altercation outside his house in Mulhuddart on 21 August. He later died from his injuries in hospital.

Gardaí, who have made two arrests in relation to the case, say they are still holding an 18-year-old at Blanchardstown Garda Station.

It was understood that the investigation was focussing on three men who called to the victim’s house in Castlecurragh Vale before the incident occurred. The attackers escaped on foot.

The victim’s partner and young son fled the scene.
