FOUR UNITS OF the Dublin Fire Brigade attended a domestic fire in the north inner city today.
It is believed that a mattress went on fire in one of the top floor bedrooms of the house on Sean MacDermott Street.
All of the occupants managed to safely evacuate the house while firefighters battled the blaze.
Breathing apparatus was used by fire crew, and no injuries were reported at the scene.
In a separate incident today, two people taken to hospital after a family was rescued by the Dublin Fire Brigade when a fire started in the utility room of a house in Donaghmede.
The smoke alarm alerted the family to the fire, which started at around 3am this morning.
Two people were rescued by ladder, as members of the fire brigade used breathing apparatus to fight the blaze.
Two members of the family were taken to hospital to receive treatment for smoke inhalation, as a precaution.
The charred remains of a washing machine were found after the fire was extinguished, and the fire brigade shared the image on Twitter.
