Body recovered in search for missing man off Kerry coast

Divers recovered the body this morning.

A BODY HAS been recovered in the search for a man in his 50s who went missing after a boat capsized in Kenmare Bay yesterday.

The Valentia Coastguard said divers found the body at around 9.30am this morning, shortly after the search operation resumed off the coast of Templenoe in Kerry.

Two men were on the boat when it turned over yesterday afternoon, but one was rescued after swimming ashore to a nearby island.

The Castletownbere lifeboat was launched at around 3pm after an alarm was raised.

The operation was stood down at around 6.30pm due to worsening sea conditions.
