Man dies after falling off horse-drawn cart

The incident took place last night near Kilmacanogue.

A MAN HAS died after falling from a horse-drawn cart in Co Wicklow.

Gardaí say the incident took place at around 8.15pm last night at Red Lane near Kilmacanogue.

The man (44) was travelling alone on the cart when it is believed he fell off.

He was rushed to St Vincent’s University Hospital, but later died from his injuries.

A forensic examination of the scene is due to be carried out. Diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone who was travelling on Red Lane, Calary – this is the road from Sugarloaf car park towards the N11 – yesterday evening to contact them at Bray Garda Station on 01 6665300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666111, or any Garda Station.
