GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED two men in connection with the execution of suspected ‘serial killer’ Mark Desmond.
Desmond was murdered in a park in Lucan, west Dublin in December last year. He was shot at least three times with a revolver handgun – once to the head, once to the body and at least one shot into his groin.
Desmond was aged in his 30s and has been known to gardaí since his teens.
Gardaí today arrested two men in the west Dublin area in connection with the killing. They have been detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 at stations in the west of the capital.
The men, in their 20s and in 30s, were arrested following a planned operation involving the local Detective Unit, regional Armed Support Unit and other local units and took place in the Clondalkin and Lucan areas.
Gardaí have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed anything in around the Griffeen Valley Park area on the evening of 2 December, 2016 to contact Lucan Garda Station on 01- 6667300, The Garda Confidential Telephone line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
