WITHIN HOURS OF joining Instagram, Pope Francis has about 650,000 followers.
The pontiff christened his account today, sharing images of him praying.
Earlier Francis tweeted that he wanted to use the social media site to walk with people “along the path of mercy and the tenderness of God”.
Last month the pope met with Kevin Systrom, CEO & co-founder of Instagram, at the Vatican.
