300 jobs to be created at new Dell bank
The headquarters of computer giant’s latest venture into financial services will be located in Cherrywood.
DELL HAS LAUNCHED a commercial bank at its Irish headquaters in Dublin, with 300 jobs to created over the next three years.
The international computer company was awarded a “full commercial banking license” to operate Dell Bank International Limited, which will be based at its Cherrywood plant in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, and is an expansion of its customer financing arm Dell Financial Services.
Speaking at the launch, Taoiseach Enda Kenny said it was a “great vote of confidence” in Ireland to have Dell locate the bank here, which will bring the total number of people employed by the company in Ireland to 2,800.
200 jobs will come online during the intital phase, with a further 100 to follow by 2016.
Dell Financial Services has operated since 1997 and provides as much as €4 billion worth of funding each for year for IT equipment.
