GOOD EVENING

The 5 at 5 5 minutes, 5 stories, 5 o’clock…

EACH WEEKDAY EVENING, TheJournal.ie brings you five things you should know before you head out the door.

1. #SEIZURE Gardaí have seized cash, artefacts and documents from homes in Cork and Limerick. The seizures are part of a European investigation into the thefts of rhino horns in Dublin earlier this year.

2. #CLEARED Coronation Street actor Michael Le Vell has been found not guilty of rape and sexual offences. A jury of eight women and four men found the actor, who plays Kevin Webster on the soap, innocent of all 12 charges.

3. #PRIORY HALL The Taoiseach Enda Kenny says that he has “no objection” to meeting the Priory Hall residents. Kenny added that he needed ” a little time” to put a meeting together, but noted the “tragedy” of Stephanie Meehan’s case.

4. #BODY The body of a man in his 40s was found on a beach in Meath this morning. Gardaí are investigating the circumstances of the find at Mornington Strand.

5. #MISTAKE The Insolvency Service of Ireland has said that Personal Insolvency Practitioner Jim Stafford’s assertion that professionals, such as solicitors, should have bigger houses than PAYE workers “is not the opinion” of the service. Stafford had told RTÉ’s Drivetime that a solicitor should have a house that “accords with his professional status”.
