1. #EGYPT: The death toll from the Egyptian military’s attempts to clear two protest camps in the east and west of Cairo has risen to at least 525 amid calls for the month-long state of emergency there to be lifted.

2. #HOUSING: The government is to spend €32 million on over 260 social housing units across the country under plans announced today. Minister of State Jan O’Sullivan says that €20 million of the money will be spent on purchasing homes while the balance will go towards upgrading homes for people with disabilities.

3. #CYCLIST: A cyclist in her mid-20s has died after she was hit by a truck in south Dublin this morning. The accident happened in Blackrock with the woman removed to St Vincent’s Hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.

4. #GUETTA: An Irish website being threatened with legal action over a satirical article it published about French DJ David Guetta is sticking to its guns and not removing the article despite legal correspondence from Guetta’s lawyers.

5. #TV3: The independent broadcaster has axed The Morning Show from its daytime schedule but viewers can look forward to At Home With The Healy-Raes as it launched its autumn schedule today.
