70 gardaí involved in operation targeting thefts, robberies in Dublin city

Ten teenagers were arrested and Garda searches carried out in Dublin and Louth this morning.

TEN TEENAGERS HAVE been arrested in Dublin and Louth by gardaí investigating a series of robberies and assaults causing harm in Dublin city centre over the summer.

The seven men and three women arrested are all Irish and aged between 14 and 19 years.

A total of 70 gardaí from 11 stations were involved in the operation.

The ten arrested are being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Pearse Street, Kevin Street, Kilmainham, Terenure, Sundrive Road, Irishtown, Mountjoy and Store Street Garda Stations. They can be held for up to 24 hours.

A number of searches were carried out in Dublin and Co Louth at around 7.30am today in relation to robberies from persons and assaults causing harm in the Dublin 2 area.
