8 Limerick men to face Special Criminal Court

Men sent forward to special non-jury court on charges of violent and menacing behaviour.

EIGHT MEN have appeared in Limerick District Court on charges ranging from violent disorder to threatening to kill. All eight have addresses in Limerick.

Ger Dundan, 24, Christopher McCormack, 27, and David McCormack, 25, are charged with violent disorder in Limerick city in February.

Jimmy Collins, 47, his son Gareth Collins, 27, and Christopher McCarthy from Crercora Avenue, Ballinacurra Weston, are charged with threatening to kill and demanding money with menace.

Michael Bridgeman, 51, is charged with threatening to kill, and Patrick Pickford, 19, is charged with demanding money with menace.

The men were arrested in April. They have been remanded in custody and were all granted legal aid to cover their costs. They will now go forward to face the three-judge Special Criminal Court, which has no jury.
