1. RESPONSE: Some 50 Irish people are in the region affected by the Nepal earthquake. The Department of Foreign Affairs has set up a hotline for family members, and groups have been contacting home via social media and phone.

2. AFTERSHOCKS: It comes as fresh aftershocks are reported near Everest this morning. The death toll from the disaster has now exceeded 2,000.

3. OPINION POLLS: Sinn Féin have jumped five points in the latest Red C opinion poll for the Sunday Business Post, with support for both government parties falling.

4. IBRC: Mike Aynsley, the former boss of the IBRC, has said the government should extend its investigation of the bank’s debt writedown deals to Nama and AIB. The former CEO has given an interview to the Sunday Business Post. 

5. #BALTIMORE: 12 people were arrested in Baltimore last night, as protesters angry over the death of Freddie Gray were involved in skirmishes with police near the city’s baseball stadium, CNN reports.

6. #IBRAHIM: Dublin teenager Ibrahim Halawa is due to appear in court in Cairo again today, RTÉ is reporting. The 19-year-old has been held in prison for over 600 days without trial.

7. #TOP DOGS: The combined wealth of Ireland’s richest 250 people now exceeds the total at the peak of the Celtic Tiger boom. That’s according to the Sunday Times Rich List, published in the paper this morning.

8. #WHITE HOUSE: Barack Obama turned stand-up comedian last night for the annual White House Correspondents’ dinner. At one point, he unveiled a new alter-ego to tell the press how he really felt about them – Luther, his ‘Anger Translator’…

9. #THE OUTLOOK: It will be cool, bright, dry and sunny in most areas this morning, but showers will spread later this afternoon. Top temperatures of 7 to 12 degrees.
