TWO GARDAÍ ARE still in hospital after they were assaulted while carrying out a search of a house in Dublin yesterday evening.

A garda car was also rammed in the incident that happened in Meile an Rí, Balgaddy Lane, Lucan at around 6.45pm.

Gardaí continued with the search and seized heroin worth an estimated €48,000.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested at the scene and was questioned for a time at Ronanstown Garda Station.

He was later released and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
