Woman hospitalised after face slashed in O’Connell Street attack

It happened beside Clerys at around 8pm last night.

GARDAÍ today appealed for witnesses after a woman was attacked on O’Connell Street.

The incident happened at around 8pm last night near Clerys, at the junction with Sackville Place.

It’s believed the 24-year-old victim was targeted by a group of people, and received slash injuries to her face.

She was admitted to the nearby Mater Hospital, and later discharged.

The scene of the attack remains sealed off this morning as an investigation is carried out.
