Bomb Disposal team called to Waterford to tackle unsafe chemical

THE ARMY BOMB disposal unit has been called to Waterford to deal with an unsafe chemical at a commercial premises. The team was deployed to Lancaster Laboratories in Dungarvan to dispose of a sample of picric acid, which was discovered in a routine audit. The chemical was removed to waste ground and a controlled explosion was carried out at around 4:40pm.
