CORK VEGETARIAN RESTAURANT Café Paradiso has been named as Ireland’s best restaurant in TripAdvisor’s Traveller’s Choice awards.

The awards are based on millions of reviews posted on the site by people who have been sampling the fine dining delights of the country.

Café Paradiso has a strong reputation in Cork but is clearly quite popular with visitors from all around the world.

“Service is wonderful and the menu covers so many flavours and options you’ll honestly never miss the meat,” one woman from Texas wrote in her review. An Australian tourist also described his dessert as “exceptionally delicious”.

And a Cork man wrote that the dishes he tried were “explosions of pure taste”.

The restaurant comes in ahead of two Dublin restaurants, Chapter One and Sabor Brazil, in second and third place respectively.

An Port Mor in Westport, Kai in Galway and Ela Bhan in Sligo also feature.
