Man found with child pornography ordered not to 'loiter around playgrounds or schools'

The Kildare man was granted bail this week.

A MAN IN his mid-30s has been ordered to stay away from children and not to photograph them under any circumstances following an arrest this week in Co Kildare.

Garda John Butler outlined in Naas Court on Thursday how 35-year-old Robert Lane, 7 Riverside Grove, Athgarvan, Co Kildare, was charged with being in possession of two USB sticks containing images of child sex abuse and a laptop, at a Newbridge address, on 22 January 2013.

Lane has been ordered not to be in contact with any children or loiter around playgrounds and primary schools.

Judge John Coughlan granted Lane €100 bail, under several conditions.

Lane has been ordered to surrender his passport, abstain from alcohol and not to photograph any child under 18, in any circumstances.

He has been ordered not to be in contact with any child under 18, without the consent or a parent or guardian and has been prohibited from loitering around playgrounds and primary schools.

A book of evidence has been ordered, Lane has been ordered to reappear at Naas District Court on 16 October.

Judge Coughlan imposed no reporting restrictions.
