The violent disorder took place at around 9.40am yesterday morning.

NINE PEOPLE ARE due to appear before a court in Longford this morning charged after an incident of violent disorder yesterday.

The incident took place on the main street of Longford town at approximately 9.40am on Monday.

The individuals were arrested by gardaí in Longford following the public order incident.

Those charged are due to appear before Longford District Court this morning.
