Court for man charged with cannabis haul

The man will appear in court tonight to be charged following a cannabis seizure in Co Offaly.

A MAN ARRESTED in connection with a cannabis plant haul will appear in court today.

Gardaí said that the man, who is aged in his 30s, is expected to appear before a sitting of Dublin District Court this evening.

He will be charged following yesterday’s seizure of cannabis at Geashill, Co Offaly.

As part of an ongoing investigation Gardai from Tullamore and the Garda National Drugs Unit carried out a search at a house in Geashill, Co Offaly, on 3 August.

They found a grow house during a search of two sheds located at the rear of a house.

Cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €280,000 (pending analysis) were seized and a male in his 30s arrested.
