19-year-old in serious condition after Longford crash

Five people were in the car at the time.

A 19-YEAR-OLD man was seriously injured in a crash in Longford in the early hours of this morning.

Five people were in the car when it crashed into a ditch on the Ferefad to Ballymacormack road at around 3:50am.

The driver and the other passengers of the car were uninjured.

The injured passenger was taken to the Midlands Regional Hospital in Mullingar where he is being treated for his injuries.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses.

The road is currently closed to facilitate a Forensic Collision examination and diversions are in place.

Witnesses to the collision are asked to contact Longford Garda station on 043 3350570, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
