CALIFORNIAN POLICE ARE searching for an Irish man who went missing during a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail.

David O’Sullivan (25) was last heard from on 7 April. He was based in Idyllwild in California and made contact with his parents through an email, according to the Murrieta Police Department.

O’Sullivan was hiking on the Pacific Crest Trail and was due to meet up with a friend in Santa Barbara sometime in early May.

However, he never showed up.

The Pacific Crest Trail runs from the Mexican border all the way up to Canada.

Police said that O’Sullivan was supposedly travelling alone.

Anyone with information about O’Sullivan is asked to contact the Murrieta Police Department on 951-696-3615 or Detective Lawlor on 951-545-0030.

The Department of Foreign Affairs told TheJournal.ie that it is aware of the case and is providing consular assistance.
