The government’s budgetary strategy will either set the country straight, or cripple economic development. Which is it?

THE PUBLICATION THIS AFTERNOON of the government’s Four Year Plan – which hopes to find €15bn in budget adjustments by 2014 – marks a significant programme of slashing government spending, while also hiking taxes through PAYE and VAT.
