Drugs worth €1m seized in Meath and 20 arrested in Wicklow investigation

Gardaí have arrested over 20 people in the past week for suspected involvement in the sale and supply of heroin and cannabis in Bray, Co Wicklow.

GARDAÍ HAVE SEIZED drugs with an estimated street value of up to €950,000 during the search of a premises in Kilmurray, Enfield, Co Meath, last night.

Around 4kg of heroin and 5kg of cocaine were seized and one man in his early 40s was arrested at the scene.

He is being detained at Leixlip Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

Separately, gardaí in Wicklow said they have arrested 20 people over the past week for their suspected involvement in the sale and supply of drugs in the Bray area.

A nine-month-long covert operation investigating drug trafficking in this area has seen over 50 charges being brought against those arrested.

During searches carried out this week, gardaí recovered unspecified quantities of controlled drugs.
