Heading to the Electric Picnic? Here is what you need to know about the weather...

All the weather news for the weekend coming up.

THIS WEEKEND WILL see around 50,000 people travel to Stradbally for the Electric Picnic.

At this point, there is cause for optimism for those making the journey down to Laois, with Met Eireann forecasting fair if not excessively sunny weather.

Tomorrow is expected to be mostly dry and bright, with sunshine breaking through at different points in the day. Temperatures will reach around 15 to 16 degrees.

Saturday and Sunday will see conditions remaining dry and relatively cool, with highs of 14 to 15 degrees expected.

It is anticipated that the reasonably dry weather will hold out until the middle of next week.

Traffic wise, the Gardaí are advising festival goers that clear signage will be available as individuals approach from the M7 southbound, the M7 northbound, the M8 northbound, via Portlaoise, the N80 via Carlow, or the R428 via Athy.

Motorists are advised that no roadside parking will be permitted, and that on arrival at the festival they should take note of the car park that they are situated in to avoid confusion later on.

Individuals are also advised to label any valuable personal belongings with their names and phone numbers. For anyone thinking of labelling an expensive smart phone, they have this little nugget of wisdom:
